Monthly - Friday Night Summer Restorative Series

Friday, 6:00 to 8:00 PM

This monthly Restorative Series is theme based, all sessions will be a balanced practice with a different focus. Opening, will emphasize backbends. Backbends are stimulating, they counteract slouch back, stretch the whole front body, abdomen and diaphragm. Help breathing problems and relieves mild depression. Detoxing, will feature twists, inversions and breath exercises. Twists flush out waste as the organs are squeezed, and fresh blood rushes in when the twist is released. They help to open the breath and let go of the old, bringing in the new. Surrendering, will focus on forward bends. Forward Bends are claming, lower blood pressure, stretch hamstrings, gluteals and the whole back body. They facilitate surrendering and letting go.

June 6th - Opening (SOLD OUT)
July 11th - Detoxing

August 8th - Surrendering (SOLD OUT)

Pranayama (Breath-Exercise) Workshop

Yogis believe that breathing practices are more beneficial to the body, mind, and spirit than postures. In this workshop, you will learn fundamental yogic breathing techniques, and to connect with your breath. Increase your prana (life force energy) and create more oxygen rich blood flowing through your body and to your brain. Reduce toxins (and therefore dis-ease) in the body by learning proper breathing. You will learn breaths to combat stress, increase energy, relieve insomnia, and to cool the physical body.

Saturday, July 19th

3:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Preregistration is required

August Posture Workshop Series

Saturday, 3:00 to 5:00 PM

Each session of this weekly posture series will focus on stretching and working specific muscles geared to the posture of the week.  Ultimately taking you toward the featured posture, every session will be a balanced practice.  The intention of the series is for all students to be with their own practice.  It's not about achieving the main posture, it's about connecting with your body and breath so that your practice may grow.  Some yoga experience is recommended.

August, 2nd - Yoganidrasana (on back, feet behind head)
August, 9th - Eka Pada Rajakapotasana (royal pigeon)
August, 16th - Hanumanasana (split)
August, 23rd - Padmasana (lotus)
August, 30th - Sirsasana (headstand)

Sweet Molasses Workshop

A blissful combination of Hatha/Flow and Restorative Yoga

This workshop begins with a short meditation, then eases into exploring traditional asanas (postures), with focus on breathing, mindfulness, and alignment. After an invigorating workout, we will transition into the sweetness of Restorative Yoga: using props, we will relax into postures for prolonged periods of time. The stillness allows your body to rejuvenate, your nervous system to calm, and your whole being to feel the peace which is your natural state. The approach is gentle to all postures, even challenging ones. Essential oils will be used to enhance the setting and mood. Hands-on adjustments along with gentle touch add a personal flavor. Pranayama (breath control exercises) will be integrated throughout the workshop.

Date To Be Announced

3:00 PM to 5:30 PM
